Irena Šumi
Dr. Irena Šumi, Ljubljana, Slovenia, was an evaluator of available data on Anti-Semitism in the ten candidate countries of Eastern and Central Europe: reported to EUMC, Vienna (with Dr. Hannah Starman). Her main research interests are: Anthropology of ethnicity, nationalism, and boundary; Native American political history of the 19th and 20th centuries; Anthropology of post-socialism and post-colony; Anthropological history and theory; Racism and antisemitism; Slovenian Jewry; Human rights in anthropological perspective, etc.
From 2014 she is honorary employed at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Work: Social anthropology; Social justice and advocacy; Ethics in social work, comparative perspectives; Ethnically sensitive social work; Social work with Roma; Human rights and advocacy; Qualitative research methods, and from 2015 at the Alice Salomon Hochschule Berlin, program: Social work as human rights profession: Health and gender; Qualitative research methods in social work; World society (module coordinator).
