Aleksander Kraus was born in Belgrade in 1940. He was educated in Belgrade, where, after high school, he graduated at the Faculty of Metalurgical Technology. University of Belgrade. During his professional career he worked in industry, where, in a long period he was general manager of a big company in Belgrade. This was in an important period of the self-management socialism in Yugoslavia. During the period of transition he had his own entrepreneurial experiences. Now he is retired, and active in Savez Antifasista Srbije (Union of the Antifascists of Serbia), and in Struggle for Socialism.
