Faika El-Nagashi
Mag.a Faika El-Nagashi is a politician, a political activist and a political scientist (University of Vienna). She is a Member of the Austrian Parliament for the Green Party and spokesperson for Integration and Diversity politics for the Austrian Greens. Prior to that, she has been a member of the Viennese Municipal and Provincial Council (2015-2019) and for more than 15 years an activist in the national, pan-European and transnational Human Rights field. Her work, activism, and research focus on anti-racism and anti-discrimination, lesbian and LGBTI rights, (women’s) migration, integration and diversity politics and intersectionality. In 2008, she was the recipient of the acclaimed Johanna-Dohnal-scholarship. In 2015 she was honored with the Black Austrian Award for her political and community contributions. She is a prolific activist who is embedded in social justice movements such as the Platform for humane asylum politics.
