Tanja Prušnik
Tanja Prušnik, Carinthian Slovenian, has been working as a freelance architect and artist. Prušnik has completed her studies at the Technical University of Vienna. As an engaged architect and painter, she became known through her social project den blick öffnen. The project was established in 2008 by Tanja Prušnik and artist Ina Loitzl.
The grandfather of Tanja Prušnik is the known Carinthian partisan Karel Prušnik – Gašper who was the organizer of the anti-fascist struggle in Carinthia. He published a book Gamsi na Plazu in 1958. The fifth updated edition of the book was published posthumously in 2019. The book was visually conceived by the author’s granddaughter, Tanja Prušnik.
In 2019 she was elected the first female president of the Künstlerhaus am Karlsplatz, Austrian Artists’ Society, founded already in 1861.
